Sunset in the Glen

I'm not overly pleased with this but, "ya' win some, ya' lose some...", and in the interest of painting on a regular basis, here it is. I didn't realize that I didn't have enough color in the sky until I was all finished with it. See that little smoke stack, that's how you tell if some one is home up here. Every one has wood burning stoves and in the winter we all have them going during the day. It's kind of comforting, seeing the smoke drifting up.

This is LOVELY, Tami! The colors and mist in your trees is just beautiful!!!!! And yes, that smoke -- in the sky and the smell -- all seems so warm and inviting! Keep going, cara, I think you're on a roll!

Yup, I agree, Tami. Very nice, and painting regularly is an excellent goal (especially if it's a loosely held goal, not the kind you use to beat yourself up with!).
By the way, I went searching the web to find the little sketching stool you asked about and didn't find it, exactly. Dick Blick has one similar to it - it's a tri-legged folding stool - but theirs is wood, and mine is metal and very, very totable. I'll keep looking. Mine has a nylon seat, plus a little sack you can put it it for toting. It's possible I got it at a sporting goods store. Anyway, if I see one I'll write and let you know.

Tami,
I'm responding to a comment you left on Karen's blog - I saw a canvas seat, 3-legged folding stool at Pearl Paint Wed for $6.95. If I had one more hand for carrying things I would have brought it home. I suggest that you look on the Pearl Paint website. If it isn't there, call Pearl Paints on Canal and ask for the "basement."
