Things with Wings, EDM challenge

This is my contribution for last weeks EDM challenge "Things with Wings". I was working off a photograph and figured out that seagulls can very easily take on the proportions of ducks, if you aren't really careful. It is amazing how a slight change in the length of a tail or curve of a head can change the look of a bird so familiar. He still has a few problems but he's the best I can do for the moment.

Hi Tami,

He's really quite good, I would have known he was a seagull, without reading your description. He's got a bit of a cheeky look to him too, and that is just what a seagull is!
Really nice painting, Tami!

Lin always beats me! I was going to say the flowers were awesome. LOL!! This really is excellent! You've got a really good angle on the fence and it REALLY looks like wood. The seagull certainly does have that "look" so characteristic of the breed. A fine job and you should be proud of it!!

Tami,
I LOVE this painting! The seagull is great. I love the crafty look on his face but even more I love all the parts of the painting. The way you did the foreground flowers vs. the background flowers is beautiful--some detail in the foreground and softly blurred in the background. The texture on the fence posts is terrific too. Really nice work!

Very nice. The fence is great too, not only the bird.
