Two Poppies

I have up loaded and deleted this twice now trying to get the colors correct. It is either great oranges or great yellows, ya don't get both! I wish I could show you the original, the colors ,with these artist paints, just sing. I do wish I had done the sky a deeper blue though. Oh well, tonight it was amazing that I even posted anything, I had a hard time forcing myself to draw. My Mom is visiting and it is just plain difficult to concentrate!

Wonderful colors! It can be SO hard to get scans to come up properly -- so we all know to guess that it is even MORE amazing in real life!

The composition is stunning and so is the perspective/point of view.

It is frustrating when the colors won't scan right. If the picture is smaller than the scanner bed, it can be helpful to put some white paper and or black paper on the scanner when you scan it. (I use a special photographer's color chart thingee). When the drawing is mostly light colors, having some black on there helps the scanner guess what is dark light and middle. Then you just crop it out afterwards. What program do you use for correcting the color (if any) after you scan? Even with Photoshop, sometimes it's hard to get it to do what it should.

Beautiful. Xavier asked what kind of flowers they were and when I told him he said 'But Mummy baby dogs are called puppies!'
