This was my first attempt at rendering the really deep tones in an eggplant. I am fairly pleased with the graduation of blueish purple and reddish purple tones. My only real dissatisfaction with it is the back ground color, I picked this from the triad, and wish instead that I had used the ocher tone instead. The highlights came out okay, nothing to stand up and shout for joy about. It is also the first time I have tried to do highlights on a very dark subject.
